Top Favorite Korean Skin Care

When it comes to skincare products there are tons of brands to choose from in the market. But how will you recognize which product serves best for your skin? I'd like to share with you my skin type and skin problems also my opinions on my favourite skincare products which mostly are Korean brands.
Let me have a short foreword about my skincare quest. I'm not the type of individual who goes with the craze. I only heed a craze if it's worthwhile. As soon as I turned 30, I noticed a drastic difference in my skin, like the losing of collagen, loss of good fats on my face that rendered it dragging looking. So I thought of Koreans. I have always seen their skin a long time ago when I was in the Philippines when they launched Korean Drama shows there and all these Korean Pop waves. What's evident about them is their timeless glamour and their brilliant skin. So I started to fondle again with Korean drama. The first Korean Drama I watched after a while was "Descendants of the Sun". Because I saw there that the lead actress was my favourite Song Hye Kyo. And from that drama, she looked really fresh and even prettier. Then I checked out for her age and my gosh she didn't age at all! I looked online for Korean skincare products and to my amazement, there were plenty of them. I couldn't find a good product for my skin. I strived to choose products online based on critiques but then it was a fault, I thought that should not be the case. I have to read the description of the brand and the product itself to prevent inaccurate expectations and irritations on the skin. Some brands will have a description of their ingredients to inform consumers like me and what's is suggested. I purchased products before that were famous but made a huge mistake, I chose the ones that weren't acceptable for my skin because of my perception through reviews. I also purchased a book to my Kindle titled "The Little Book of Skin Care" by Charlotte Cho the founder of popular online Korean curated skincare Soko Glam.
So my advice for you, don't go by the reviews all the time, we all have various effects and different skin.

Eventually, with unfailingly educating myself with the right skincare I finally concluded what's adequate for my skin. Let me share with you my skin type and my top favourite products that work and suitable for my skin for all seasons.

Francesca's Skin:
Skin Type: Dry, Sensitive
Skin Concern: Dull, Uneven, Anti-Aging
Products Worked:

Make P: rem the company says it as Pragmatic Remedy, or make p:rem, has an uncomplicated and pragmatic approach to skincare. This is seen in the absence of unnecessary ingredients that can irritate the skin, a skincare routine with few and simple steps, and at the same time having very mild ingredients that suit every skin type.

This has been my ultimate favourite brand of Korean skincare I've tried so far. With my dry and sensitive skin, the feel from this line upon application gave my skin that renewal and rejuvenated feeling. Not only that with its 11 all-natural ingredients, but this brand also claims to be cruelty-free. I also get that feeling of renewal upon application but with continuous use, this improved my skin tone, elasticity and smoothness. For beginners to Korean skincare, I highly recommend this brand as it helps your skin to transition mildly from your previous product without leaving any irritation on the skin that doesn't give any false hope.

Dear Klairs Simple but enough. This brand focuses on developing products with only the simple and important ingredients that have meant for sensitive skin.

If I run out of Make P:Rem product, this is my go-to brand for my skin. This has the same efficacy as Make P:rem and also gives visible results on the skin. I highly recommend this product as well for first-timers who like to engage in skincare for its cruelty-free ingredients. Whenever I am trying a new product that promises to give visible results in two weeks, but my skin ended up having irritation, this is my skin saver brand for its gentleness and helps my skin to renew. This brand also has a make-up line that gives that Korean celebrity skin.

Id. Az was developed to treat patients' sensitive skin after treatment or surgery.
When Glow Recipe used to curate Korean skincare brands that are gentle on the skin for their brand's platform to deliver gentle and cruelty-free products before they transition to have their skincare line, this brand was one of their recommendations to me by their highly educated skincare product consultant for my skin type. In Korean skincare steps, they have what they call the "10 Steps Method". But what I like about this line is that it cuts down the steps to save my time from spending it in front of the mirror just for skincare. My favourite from this line is the Id. Az Dermastic Essence Toner. Yes, you heard it! In one it has already Essence which is the third step and toner the second step in one. How fantastic right? This toner is also perfect for "The 7 Skin Method" where you can layer your toner seven times to achieve that glow and hydration your skin needs. This is hard to find online to buy so I always do further research on where to purchase it.

Blithe brings the change of the skin and experience through smarter cosmetics from the research of urban women's lifestyle. The brand uses plant-based ingredients to develop formulas that effectively protect the skin against pollution and signs of ageing.

My favourite from this brand is their Gold Apricot Serum. This is a multifunctional serum because of its serum and moisturizer in one. This serum has that vaseline and buttery-like feeling and is infused with apricot extracts and niacinamide that help brighten the skin and even the skin tone. My other favourite from this brand is their Patting Splash Mask. I got it as a sample before and when I tried it, I didn't hesitate to buy it in a full bottle. It's not the usual face mask but a liquid mask with naturally-derived hydrating extracts to help skin maintain its moisture level. What I normally do is I use it as my last rinse for my face when I shower or when I wash my face. It makes me feel like I just got out of a spa or a treatment because that's how soothing it is on the face and it smells amazing too!

BRTC The brand stands for Bio Remedies Therapeutic Cosmetics and all their products are cruelty-free.

This is my current moisturizer. The product I'm using is their V10 Multi-Lift Sleeping Pack. This is suitable for my sensitive skin and I must say this is really mild and very effective. This product is infused with ten types of vitamins and it really brightens my skin but also leaves it deeply nourished and soothed. This is very moisturizing to my dry skin and very suitable for all-season I must say! I struggled with hormonal acne in the past, and this brightens all the acne marks I had on my chin. I recommend this to all skin types since this is irritation tested that's made for sensitive skin.

Mediheal primarily offers hypoallergenic masks that target skin concerns. This is my only brand for a sheet mask. Even if I try other brands I always go back to this and I'm one of those consumers who earned their trust.

Mask plays an essential role in skincare. This adds up in combating skin's insecurities together with serums, essences or ampoules. This brand has always been my go-to brand when it comes to sheet masks. This gives my skin a quick visible result similar to that after facial treatment look when I remove the sheet off my face because my skin brightens and evens out. This has been my skin saver whenever I have breakouts because the next day my breakouts are either gone or have calmed down. This is a very good quick rescuer for the skin whenever you'll have a big event coming up and you want your skin to look the best. All of their sheet masks are my favourite I don't have any specific type of sheet mask that I like because they all bring a promising result.
